The Executive Committee of Fourth Presbyterian’s Board of Deacons plays a vital role in overseeing
and coordinating the board's activities. The Executive Committee’s responsibilities include, but are
not limited to, the following:
• Providing leadership and oversight for Deacon’s Board’s activities and initiatives and setting goals and
priorities that align with Fourth’s mission and vision.
• Periodic review of existing policies, procedures, budgets, and guidelines related to the work of the
Deacon Board. They may recommend updates or revisions to ensure compliance with Fourth’s
standards and best practices.
• Setting the agenda for board meetings, ensuring that key topics and decisions are addressed.
• Strategic planning efforts, including long-term goal setting, program development, and evaluation of the
board's effectiveness in fulfilling its mission and responsibilities.
• Serve as a liaison between the board and other church leadership, helping to facilitate communication
and collaboration within the Fourth church community.
• Create and align training programs and initiatives with the Deacon Board's mission, goals, priorities,
and standards.
• Under the supervision of Session, receive program leadership and guidance from the Associate Pastor
for Caring Ministries, ensuring alignment with the church’s overall vision and objectives
and coordinating the board's activities. The Executive Committee’s responsibilities include, but are
not limited to, the following:
